My Brother lowered his A roadster- pics

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris, May 8, 2010.

  1. Some of you guys know my Brother bought this old Model A roadster late last year. He's been pluggin away at it, making a hot rod out of it while driving and enjoying it. My buddys built an axle dropper years ago but we never had enough heat to drop em...so My brother dug it out of storage, got a couple torches and dropped an axle for the roadster. He built the entire front end and tossed it under the car last night. Car is getting converted to hydrallic brakes, too. Man, it looks so much more bitchin now! Take a gander :D Just about as low as my coupe, gotta get the rear down a little too.

Heres what it looked like when he got it. He made a jig to drop his own head light bar, too.

    The results look good!

I am always impressed with with folks that arent afraid to try things themselves. You and your brother have some talent.

What are the plans for the rear?

There were many built just like that during the war. Trucks could get gas where cars couldn't.

    Looks super cool.

  18. Yeah they are, he has a set of 16"s with some new firestones that will go under it when he gets the wheel cleaned up. Tires fit good.

  19. T spring, same thing I did on my coupe. Should sit identical when done.

  20. Hamber Povertyflats had it and sold it to JimGalli down in Tonopah, NV. Thats were he got it.

  21. My Dad was using air tools in the garage...thats what MOST of the sounds are ;)

Yup, that's the one. It was for sale in the local SLC classifieds. Cool ride! Glad it went to someone that will do something cool with it.

I beg to differ:D Your bother is treatin' her right though.

I fell in love with that car when Paul posted it for sale.

Glad the extra noises weren't from the roadster.

  29. Eh, the rear end does make a little howlin...but Corey has another A rear with Juice brakes already to go under it. The lil roadster looks pretty good on the outside, but is plain worn out on the underside:D The engine in it is the one out of my coupe. I ran it in my roadster last year, then sold it to Corey as the engine in this car was tired. Front end was very sloppy, too. So he just built up a nice new one. I would immagine the rear has seen better days as well ;) At least A running gear stuff is everywere and cheap/free! Just keep pluggin along.

That one just keeps looking better every time a new photo of it shows up.
