The wife and I had the time of our lives at the roundup! I took a bunch of pictures and will post them for you guys a little at a time. Been slammed ever since I got home with work. Our trip started out bad with a blow out on the trailer. It's my work trailer, the coupe just does fit. I pulled off the road to check it out and got stuck in the mud. Unhooked my truck and it slid down into the ditch and got stuck. An off duty sheriff stopped and helped slow down traffic. I called a buddy with an old Bronco to save the day.

Two wheel street tires just spun in the mud.
My buddy Mickey's Bronco had no problem getting both out.

The Sheriff stopped both lanes of traffic to help out.

Then the mad rush to get back to town and find a new tire before closing time!! After six hours of work and luck, we got back on the road. I was tired so we stopped after 400 miles for the night. Thursday morning we hit the road for Austin again with only 800 more miles to go.

We came across a car "in tow" and had to slow back down to get a picture of this! The Mexican driver had no clue.
[IMG] Made it to our room after 14 hours and it the hay! Got up in the morning and had to pinch myself, we made it!

I heard a kid say to his dad, "someone brought a hot rod lawn mower". The old lady and I jumped in the coupe and hit the road for the show!

I got to see the old hot rod that started it all for me. My friend Del Clark owned a sweet 32 5 window, I would ride with him ever chance I got and loved it! He sold the car to Franco and I thought I would never see it again. As soon as I saw it, I had to go up and touch it. I managed to get my car next to it for the picture of a life time! The car I built next to the one that gave me the sickness. It was kick ass to meet Franco, wish I could have stayed in Texas longer.

    David,
I need to apologise to you and your wife. I dropped my stuff off and came back to meet your wife and stopped to talk to Danny of Bruces Rod Shop about my quickchange. We ended up in an indepth discussion about my 32 and by the time I got to your car, you two were gone. I really wanted to bend your ear on some stuff. Next time!

  9. I have to thank you and curse you.....

You have taken away my excuse "it's too far"! I will be going next year! I'm sure your coupe looked great as always.

David, it was great to meet you and your better half..... your car was better in person and looked wicked!
    See you again......

  11. David, it was great meeting you and the wife. Your coupe is just beautiful, sorry you had so much trouble with the rig on the way to Austin but after all you went through building your car, I know you were not going to let a flat tire stop you from making the trip. Again, it was awesome meeting you in person.

Does anyone have any info on this 5w for sale? I can't really read the sign, but man it looks like it could be cool.

Nice photos and always fun to see one more person's look at an event.

Great looking coupe but if it was mine it would have a real exhaust system on it and get driven all the way to the event.

Thanks Scott (Moter) for giving us rock star parking! It was so nice having a spot for my beater so the wife and I could walk around and soak it all in. The pizza from Home Slice was great!!
