The Big Tom Ingram has announced the big dates............with guest Jerry Lee Lewis!!! So Viva Las Vegas has announced the dates for 2011......... Apr 22-24 Just so everyone knows - April 24 is Easter in 2011 I have a big interest in this since I have already planned on April 30 for the Vintage Torque Fest. I sure hope that Lonestar tries to be the week BEFORE Viva........there is no way anyone can compete with one of the greatest hot rod shows in the world! Just ask the people I met from Austria, Norway, Sweden, New Zealand, Austrailia, Japan, and France that were there this weekend! If anyone knows the dates that are going to be in 2011 that may be in April / May - please let me know. I believe May 7 is Hunnert Heads Up and May 8 is Mothers Day. I know this is far far away - but I have to already start thinking about 2011 in order to reserve the track, hotel, etc <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
My wife, Sandy, and I have attended the last two Viva Las Vegas shows, and we're already booked in for next year. It's an entire, awesome weekend of vintage Rockabilly music, dress and a big vehicle show. If you're planning to attend, it's best to book into The Orleans Casino now, as it does sell out. You can always cancel later...www.orleanscasino.com. There is a show discount code for the rooms, but I don't have it handy. Check out www.vivalasvegas.com.
Rooms already booked for next years Viva. No way will I ever miss another.....The last two have been a blast. The only thing that sucks is so many other cool shows are so close to it. I wish they were a little more spread out because I would love to hit a few more. But, VLV is my first priority.
I heard that the car show cost $20 bucks to get in? Is that true? If you have the Viva Las Vegas wrist band you can go in - it is a part of the show - but in the past the car show was open to the public........now they have to pay huh?
As far as I know the public has always had to pay to get in. I think they raised the price this year because Chuck Berry was playing. If I recall last year (2009) it was $5 for the public to get in and the line was longer than hell all day long.
aha - did not know that I thought that a few years ago it was wide open and there was no way they could control who came in and out........ I get stuff confused in my mind from all the shows I do
No, the cars are all fenced in and there is one way in. They do it right so no one messes with the cars at night and the public can't just wonder around anytime. If you have a wrist band and have a car in the show you can come and go as you please except on Saturday, then just because it is so crowded, they don't want you to move the car during show hours which makes sense. Very well ran and organized IMO. Axel & the Shifters know what they are doing.
the car show was free for a long time. then last year it was 5 bucks to get in then this year it was 20 in advance and 30 the day of. i didnt go as it would cost me 60- 90 bucks to get in with my family.
at gold coast it was free. well there was no fence so you could just walk in. but now at orleans its so big and fenced. the wristband is the only way to go! although i like th gold coast better but that was also when everything was smaller. now this event is really taking off!
The bigger the car show the better I say. Especially when it is all cool stuff like this past year. Bring on the Good Guys sized show with all the traditional stuff and no billet/GG's type. That would be fine by me.
wow $30 for a car show just to get in? well - I guess they have to pay for those high priced music acts and the rent in Vegas is NOT cheap - not everyday you get to see a legend like Jerry Lee Lewis or Chuck Berry
Are you trying to start shit? Its because CHUCK BERRY was playing the car show...He only played the car show...as well as 3 other bands, dj's & cars all day...Now quit bitching & come have fun. If you book the whole weekend, the car show admission is included with your entertainment...remember...its a MUSIC weekend, with a car show.... NOT a car show with MUSIC
Is this a serious post? Really...Thats a dick comment! Its a year away and there is already shit talking?
NO - I am not starting shit - I did not realize that the car show cost that much to get in......... cmon - you gotta understand when I was there - it was free.......and I thought it had stayed that way - so when someone says it was $30 to get in - yeah - I was startled. I totally understand the costs involved and I cant imagine how much it costs to get legends like Chuck Berry or Jerry Lee Lewis - so I totally understand where ya'll are coming from. And in Vegas - nothing is cheap - Dont worry - not trying to start anything - just did not realize the price was that much - when I saw the musical guests I just assumed they were part of the indoor thing. Did not realize that the car show is now its own seperate entity. I am sure the people there are used to it and all the people that come in for hte weekend are getting to see it as part of the show I hope to go out there next year. And I am trying NOT step on anyones toes when preparing for 2011....that is why I am searching for the correct dates.........so I can tell people at the show when to prepare for the following year. if you want the moderator to delete my posts - that is cool. I have sent you a PM
Just got back from Vegas on Monday, and hey, entertainment all day for $20.00.......what a bargain!!!!!!
Spectator admission for TWO days is $10 at the Lonestar RoundUp and the place is chalk full of very cool entertainment.....including those hot, hot dudes from High School Caesar.
Why not just spend $89 and get the car show for free as well as 4 days of music? Viva is a deal IMO. I know a lot of people bash it, on here and locally where I go and talk to car guys because it is not purely about cars, but the price of Viva is more than fair.
Yeah - when I went out there the wristband was WELL worth the price to see just 2 of the bands I checked out. and there were oh - about 30 OTHERS that I did not see....... Advice to anyone headed to Viva - get your wristbands EARLY - they sell out!
My wife and I went to the VLV 12 and ponied up for the wrist bands. Thats the way to visit the VLV. The bands rock and the vendors were cool. Also with the bands you got to go to the front of the line to get in to the Shifters car show. As for the pin-up pageant, burlesque shoe and the Tiki pool party GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! And that what I have to say about that.
I just got the flyer in the mail. I see that CK DeLuxe and Ol' Stool Rat Wadz is now a sponsor. This doesn't portend well for the quality of cars at the car show. Last time I went, it was for the bands. If I go again, the car show probably won't be why...

i just read on the site it was 25 pre pay and 30 at door for just the 1 day, well worth it to get the 4 day pass. its an all day event and considering that its well worth the money. i usually only go and look, this year i think im going to register the car so that i have a sitting spot in between trips for beer!
My buddy and I are going this year for the first time. Can't wait. Now don't anyone complain about admission costs, we're flying in from the Netherlands just for VLV......
