We are almost ready to release the new edition of Hot Rod. This is the 60th anniversary of the book.

If you would like a personal postcard of the new cover, please send me your address in a private message, or to the email address listed below.

We are very excited about the new edition. If the sales go well, we are looking at publishing a new collection.

If you know of anyone who might like to receive this special postcard, please let me know their addresses, or have them contact me.

    My email is [email protected]

Thanks for all the fans who made me believe this was possible. Happy reading!

Oh my gosh, if this is the book I'm thinking of I read it in the late 50's or early 60's, and loved it then. Did he also write "Boy gets Car" or something like that?

Pivotal stuff for a young car nut, let me tell you!

Congratulations. Hopefully a new generation will be reading Felson.

  6. We just talked about this book a couple of nights ago. My wife is a former HS Librarian and she was familiar with it as well.

All I can say is AWESOME....THANK YOU. I'm not much of a reader...but Hot Rod was and still is my favorite read. My dad was big into CB's when I was a kid...and after reading the book I changed my "handle" to Hot Rod. Still get called that by close friends of my dads, makes me smile everytime!!

    The 60th anniversary....thats just incredible!
Your Dad had an influence on every generation since, just from that one book...never mind all the rest!
Not a lot of Authors have that kind of lasting success. :)
I'll be PMing you in a sec and look forward to getting the book when its available. I haven't read it in 30 years... :D

    Wow, Holly-
I read this book at a friends house 1979 and knew I had to read more.

    Count me in!

  14. I believe Felsen also wrote Fever Heat. I read that in paperback back in the late 50's. Would read it again if I had a copy, just for the nostalgia.

Henry Gregor Felsen has a special place in the HOT ROD culture that this should find a place on the front page H.A.M.B.

Wow, yes. This is very exciting. My dad's old copies of "Hot Rod" and "Crash Club" were instrumental in forming my views of hot rods and car culture.

Any idea when the new edition will be out? My old copy of Hot Rod is so fragile it would disintegrate if I tried to read it.

While reading the 1st page of HotRod you can see why the book had so much impact on a 12year old ;even reading it during class
right from the very 1st page you are in the car ..............

You seriously just made my whole week. I remember my dad telling me about reading this book when he was a kid, and then he spent a few hours going through my grandmothers house until he found it for me, and back then my Dad wasn't the type of guy to do a lot for me. As soon as he gave me the book I started reading, and I hated reading when I was little (I was like, 9 years old or so), and the book was way ahead of anything I had ever read before (there were no pictures!!!! haha) but I couldn't put it down. I think I read it 3 times in a row because I didn't understand half of it being so young. I still read that book, I love it so much. Good ol' bud. Thank you soo much for doing this!!!
