I see ford coupes everywere I love um but I never see chevy coupes like mine. Anyone got one id like to see.
You have to realize that aside from the fact that Fords were the Hot Rod of choice back in the day, the real problem with the Chevy's of the era is that withe the essentially all wood inner structures, no where near as many survived, therefore less material to rod in the first place.
Another reason Fords were the #1 choice was because of the flathead motor. On the flipside of that coin, the small block Chevy had the same effect which is why there are so many post-55 Chevrolet cars and trucks still in use.
My 28 chevy delivery that I was building but sold. And now my 27 chevy sedan that I am converting over to a sedan delivery.
another reason so few may be around: parts availability. sheetmetal for an A or 32 Ford is as easy as picking up the phone and opening your wallet... plus things like A swaps where there's sheetmetal practically growing on trees. when i had a '32 chevy coupe project, i searched for a door for nearly 2 years. finally found a perfect door, and it was cheap... but found it about 2 weeks after i sold the project. it may be blasphemy to some... but i think a '32 chevy looks a lot nicer than a '32 ford.
I've got a '33 Chevy truck. There are very few chevys out there. I was at Billitproof last year, must have seen 500 A's but only one '32 Chevy.
I might have took to much of a project but im gona finish mine. But would like to see more chevys out not that i dont like ford but there is alot. I love hotrods and cant get enough of them.
My Dad would have agreed with you. I inherited the coupe from him after he died. It was his pride and joy. He drove it as his daily driver from the mid 80s until the mid 90s. Slonaker
Father In Law's '31 Chevy Coupe. Need 7.50's for out back but that'll come later... 250 Chevy I6 with two pot intake Will get a 3" chop Drop Axle 5spd tranny and full fenders way way down the line when we can afford some.
Here is a 32 chevy 5 window that I modified years ago. wedge chopped the top, suicided and lenghtened the doors 5 inches, changed it to a 3 window, 34 chevy grille, custom hood, and so on. Got a little too much street rod flavor. But it was fun to drive.

i have a '29 buick.. same deal with the wood, and I used to have a '29 Desoto which was also wood structured

Here's my termite-pile, a '33 master eagle. Been in the family for ~70 yrs, my great grandfather bought it for his kids to drive to school in the late '30s...my Grandma hated the car but her brother loved racing around the country side in it. Since the '60s it was just sitting out in the pasture at our ranch until I dug it out (literally) a few years ago. Basically, once I figured out it's not that hard to remove the wood and build your own inner structure out of square tubing, I'm not too intimidated by the wood issue.
