Tell me, does the red steel building in the pics have a bunch of barrels strapped to the inside walls, so it floats when the tide comes in? I'm trying to figure out why someone would put a building in that location. Is it a boathouse?

    Great thread!

That water was friggin cold as we were floating accross the barrel i was standing over shot out and sent me in!

  5. Yes, it is a boathouse. It is always floating, no matter what the tide. The barrels are there to increase the lift because the old logs are starting to get waterlogged.

Its pretty cool, as it has a huge garage door on the downstream side to pilot your boat (or hippo) into.

My dad and I originally "drove" that boathouse upstream while our old 1942 Bowpicker boat was tied up inside!!

Even with the big block chrysler in the boat it was SLOW going!:D

But that story is a little too O/T!

nice adventure :), what about the other car?

  19. I just found this thread. It's 8.30 in the morning here in NZ and I'm at work quietly drinking coffee and reading the thread. All is well I'm keeping my head down and looking like I'm hard at work.... until we get to the pedal powered hippo !! freakin fits of laughter and coffee from one end of my desk to the other - yup both nostrils !

Needless to say my cover is blown!

    top thread.

I don't know that it is cooler than boobs. I would need to see a picture of boobs to make that determination. More if possible. Epic story though.

You could always put a nitro burning Briggs in it for power.

Wow, and I thought my dad was crazy for making me work on a car he yanked out of a pasture! Make sure you put together a scrap book for this car. It simply refuses to die. I've heard of people saying "it called out to me" but you sir actually responded. Keep the updates coming!
