All of those glass issues are the same conclusions I came to when I was speculating about doing a similar project.
My answer was to use the entire Camaro, just reskin it with '51 Belair skins. I did have to section the skins by several inches, (I think 3") and stretch them about same amount. I made a mess of the hood when I grafted on the back edge of the Camaro hood to the '51 hood, after widening it with a pie section. I had too much stress with the pieces clamped together. It looked good until I started welding then it distorted pretty bad.
Going with a reskin gave me decent suspension/drivetrane and compound curve glass. The '51 skins gave me the 'Vintage design' I was after. It was my response to 'Cadzzilla'. Kind of a poor man's version ...

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

RoddinRon, haven't found any pictures of it yet. I did most of the work on it about 12 years ago. I'll look around some more ...

I was thinking exactly the same thing. The Camaro roof looks modern somehow. But overall I like it.

No came from McClusky originally then I got it from a guy in Washburn.

If there was a 57 or any old tin around Bordulac, Osama Bin Laden has probably already hauled it in for scrap.

WHY NOT ROUND THE FRONT WHEEL WELL TO MATCH THE REAR?

Pretty cool IMO. Some minor changes that will be done anyway before completion will tie it all together. I was thinking the smaller camaro roof until I saw the chop, then I don't like it. Looks better the way you got it......that's prolly why you got it that way!!

so im the only one that thinks it looks like a giant ghia?

    haha

looks like it could be cool though, im liking the photoshop with the front wheel openings made bigger to match the back, the waterfall hood trim idea, and the pontiac vents above the headlights.

I remember a tech article in Rod n Custom about a car with a Caprice front clip and they were gonna make custom narrowed control arms for it...until they figured out that Camaros used the same control arms...have you checked the Camaro balljoints? Worth a look.
