    So true Dean.......so true.
Those of us that witnessed cars with BIG names and small stickers are really fortunate :)

Not sure how many I'll put up this weekend as they are calling for high 70's to low 80's & I got cabin fever.

Thanks again for all the great comments.

Now heres my favorite class of cars. THE GASSERS.

Irwindale was my home base too. And as commented, either Irwindale, Lions or OCIR could guarantee an open show of some sort. I attended the above event, seated some where mid bleacher on the spectator side. Thursday saw me watching a hometown kid race speedway and another accquiantance compete in MX on Fridays. The ticket guy knew me well.

These are the best. Brings back so many good memories. There are no more Dyno Don's, Snakes, Wild Willies, Grumpy's and many more. Now we have the Fruit of the Loom or Snickers cars.

  16. We ran Speedway at Irwindale. Who was the home town kid you mention? I sponsored #4 Dave "Country" Sims

The Fruit of the Loom & Snickers cars were cars from 1990's ????? You are little behind the time

I crewed on that car. It wasn't black, it was a very dark Cadillac Green. It was also built (in New York) as an injected small block, four speed car. I was with Carl when we picked it up and brought it back to Virginia. It became a BB/GS car then. It was a really nice, well built car. We ran a lot at Aquasco and Capitol (I think that's where Plum took this picture). Mike

Don't see to many steel unchopped coupes as nice as that, and so well detailed. I noticed even the door hinges were chromed.
The coupe I own was out of Hanover ,Pa and also was raced at Aquasco,Capital ,75/80,York ,maple grove and up and down the East coast. They also ran an injected chevy with a 4 speed but ran in G and c/gas. Keep the Gasser photos comming.........can't get enough.

Love that Gold 55 chevy. I guess you would call that an altered gasser.
