1969 Big block chevy 396 high performance block and heads. Its been board 0.40 needs to be cleaned and rebuilt should I make it bigger you tell me. Check out the car its going in on my othere threads 1933 chevy 5 window coupe.
With the .040 over-bore, you get something around a 404. I think you should have power to spare, I agree with having it run on pump gas. Bob
I'm partial to the L88 solid cams, I found them to be very streetable and very responsive. The cam debate is one of thoise never-ending sagas, best to hit up a current cam catalog or 3 and choose from there. Bob
Its a two bolt block, was a 325 or 350 hp hydraulic cam motor. Would have had oval port heads. No picture. Great street motor.Stock was 10 to 1.Edelbrock performer rpm intake and cam/springs works great with stock heads.Comp Cams thumper cams are the latest state of the art, and sound great while making pump gas power. The L-88 cam was made for a 12.5 to 1 motor and will suck on the street. I had a crate L-88 open chamber motor in a street car in 1970. Killer motor back then, but we could buy Sunoco 260!
