I get the biggest kick out of non "cookie-cutter" bracketry on hotrods... so I thought it would be cool for people on this site to show off their creativity and ingenuity here. So lets see what y'all come up with!
Welded Geoff, it wasn't laser cut either like some think, It was cut out of 3/8" stainless plate with a thin cutting wheel and ground and filed to shape
Belt guard, line clamps, accelerator linkage, not that special compared to other stuff on this site, but I made them.
This might be a painful question... but how many hours do you have in that mount?? That looks like it took a lot of work. Very nice. -Chris
Since you didn't specify what kind of brackets...just made this yesterday for the kids tree swing...... Have at it O/T police. And just did a chain drive jockey shift on my air cooled project...
I could not afford some of the serpentine drive systems so I built my own. I already had the crank pulley, water pump pulley and alternator pulley. When I decided to add air conditioning I built my own mount for the air pump and then found a belt tensioner for the driver’s side and built a mount for that also. I had to replace the water pump with left rotation unit and mill the grove out of the water pump pulley. When it was all done I powder coated the brackets. I have just about $100 in my system.
I'll add my headlight stands, I got mixed reviews from the 'traditional' crowd. 304 stainless tigged and polished.
These are some of mine. One is a bracket on my roadster frame that mounts the shock, is the base for the aero tube that hold the head lights and also holds the radiator. The other pic is of the brackets I made to install a steering reducer to slow up my Schroeder steering box. Rex
Thanks for the comments, Not too painfull It didn't take as long as you might think, first the shape was marked on a hunk of 10mm (3/8) stainless plate, where the radius's are I drilled holes and did the big holes with a holesaw, Then i cut out the shape with a thin cutting wheel in a 9" grinder handheld, To mark out and drill and cut out was about 3hrs, blending and fettling another 2 hours, finally polishing was around 3hrs.
Here's a bunch of custom brackets I had to fabricate all over this project. they are all made of 4130 material.
