Here's a couple more from the March Meet last weekend. That's Cruz Pedregon in the Joe Pisano tribute car wish it was painted up red like many of Pisano's cars from the 70's

Just heard that Shirl Greer passed away. If someone can confirm it, I'd love to see a little photo tribute happen here.

Always liked those Chain Lightining Cars.
Remember him taking an event win at Norwalk
    in the 70's.

Thanx for finding a reference pic of the Schumacher Torino. I would love to see more as I have a resin body waiting to build this car. Too bad no one casts a Cordoba/Charger like that of TV Tommy or Grand Spaulding Dodge. I always thought it was an ugly street car but a swoopy F/C. Any other Cordobas than the two I mentioned? Also, let's see more pro-comp funnies.

Just heard ofb Shirl Greers passing, he was an iron man! I met him once at a PHR race at 131 Martin, while he wrenched for a Firebird funny called the Centurion. We talked near the end of the pits and I mentioned his miracle of a come back to win the world championship after burning his Chained Lightning Mustang and himself. This was the best showing of what the word guts means. He also seemed like one hell of nice guy. We need more like him!

Being a Ford man I don't know much about these "off brands" but this may be what you are looking for: Sorry for the blurry photo but I have a cheap scanner.

This is what was said on his post if you had read it all. I grew up on Fords, I have had two Torinos myself. I was just following up on his talking about the Dodges.

anybody have a pic of a flopper from about 1974 or 75. Yellow Pontiac body? I'm thinking it was Gene Snow - could be wrong. I had a 1/12 model of this car back then and haven't seen the car in all these pics.

Does anyone have any photos of this c/gas Willys out of Hanover.Pa
It was driven by Charley Garrett in the late sixties and early seventies up and down the east coast. The last race was at Kil-kare drag strip at a gasser meet. He rolled the car twice over the guard rail after hitting a slick spot.
I currently own the car and would pay a 100 bucks to have a shot of the car the night of the accident. He also stood the car on its push bar at englishtown and crashed back down to earth destroying the oil and tranny pan, along with the entire front end assembly.
A good shot of that wheel stand in N.J. will also be worth a hundred bucks.

The name on the side of the car was The Wynns Spit Fire Special.

I don't recall it winning any national meets, don't know about match racing. I do recall that the first one (driver by Butch Maas) was destroyed in a fire during a run. MT continued running the Grand Am body for a few more years.

A Revell kit of the yellow car was re-issued awhile ago if you are looking for another kit to build. I wouldn't think it would be too tough to find on ebay or someplace else on-line.
