I know this is morbid, and may touch a certain nerve with some of you....but, how about posting some pictures of engine & driveline carnage. You know the kind I'm looking for....Thrown rods, dumped valves, holes in blocks, transmission & rear axle missfortunes.

Fortunately, I have none of my own....but here's one I found today on Von Hartmann's thread that he just posted about the engine in his Henry J.

Notice how he "Expertly" framed the can of BUD in the big end of the rod!

Not to really run this off topic, but look at those valve covers. They seem to be made for both straight and staggered bolt heads. Production or homemade? Butch/56sedandelivery.

Actually that is a fine example of how fuel will not compress, but same difference. The result of an electric fuel pump and a shot needle and seat in a Holley carb...

Not so clear a pic. , I uncovered my old Cummins 855 block from almost 20 years ago. The wrist pin bore broke off on the last cyl, have no idea why. It flattened the starter and it hit the floor so hard my foot was bruised. Knocked the block almost in half, exploded the cam and cam boxes. The rod stayed there, had to leave it there when I pulled the crank. It is still in the forest, the proverbial Sword in the Stone.

Here's one of my favorite pictures of automotive driveline carnage ever!

Jim Miles, or Gary Essman depending on report you read, blowing the bottom end out of the Magic Muffler Fiat Topolino at Lions Dragstrip in 1965.
