Well after seeing a tech on how to make a nerf rear bumper deal here on the hamb. I had to give it a try and it didnt help that i needed a place to mount taillights and a licence plate. Its pretty much done and is just mocked in place. I kinda felt i made it too wide but its looking a little better now that its on the truck, but i may still cut it down. May change the taillights too. What do you guys think?

I think you're right about it being too wide...to my eye, it looks like it should be no wider than the pickup box, that seems like the best proportion...otherwise it looks great...

  3. Nice. I've always been a huge fan of the old nerf bumpers.

Great job! Not too wide, they fit the truck. Again, great job!!

  5. Nice work. I am thinking a nice nerf for the front of my truck and just looked up the tech article. Pretty sure that is the way I will go. Looks great, Thanks for the pics.

    I like it !

  7. Looks good, may be a touch wide but I would not narrow it but heat the ends and curve them "around" the bed.

The nerf bar looks great! Chrome it when you're 100% done.

I like the width, makes the tires not stick out so much. Overall has a nice balance and good spacing between the lights & license plate.

a lot are like that gasserjohn but imade mine different because well the bumper was close in to the body.

  15. I like the width of it, lines up with the outer most peaks of the bed. If you narrow it it will make the bed look taller. JMO
I think the tail lights go well also.

    Great job.

  16. i agree with ruiner.

  17. I'm with Tman, too! And if it still don't look right, you can back up and go Ruiner's way! Nothing lost but little elbow grease.

JUNKYARDKID...I think the width is perfect. you did good grasshoppa! yea save the bucks on chrome plating, and paint the bumper silver. I've done that before and it looks pretty nice. good luck on your build...POP.

Im debatin it, i do have a set of nice fronts and four or five beat up backs.

The bumper is acctuelly stainless, though i welded it with flux core(ill buy a tig soon enough) so i may polish it up and leave it or paint it silver or black.

Im glad you guys like the taillights, im may not run the blue dots, but they sure are easyier to tie on with tie wire.
