A buddy of mine took me with him to this old boys place were he is selling almost all of his cars that are outside. He has a lot of Edsels. Which my buddy bought most of them for $75 each. He had some metropolitans and about 4 or 5 1964 galaxies and some older galaxie converts. The Lasalle is his buddies and he is checking on how much he wants for it. This guy is really in to edsels he said he is going to just give all of his restored edsels in his shop to his buddies in his Edsel club. Not sell them just give them to them because he said his kids dont care about his old cars. So he wants to make sure they go to someone that will love them and take care of them. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <o></o>
that looks to be a starliner/ sunliner, what about that? it would be worth a trip if the price was right.
Excellent stash! If any of those 64's are XL's the trim is worth a bundle. Now that I'm out of a job I'm going to have more time to find vintage tin.More pics please....
Fritz The 64 rag top is still for sale. He wants $1500 for it and he said he has a rebuilt motor that needs put back together for it as will that goes with it. There are two rag top starliners and he wants $500 for both of them.
BE CAREFUL FRITZ ! You know what getting another project does to the others waiting in the wings.I know, who am I to talk.I have the same disease!
For future reference, the Convertibles are Sunliners. If I could make that trip,I'd be all over those. My dad had one.(That's me in the pic in '64....) This is a Starliner
Here are some pics of the econolines. Me and my brother bought these. I like this. This is on the dash of the blue econo. Here are some pics of the 64 Galaxies. The Red one is a 390 500XL and the Green vert is also a 390 500XL, the blue is just a 500 with a 289 in it. He wants $1700 for the red one and $1700 for the green one and $1500 for the blue one.
Damn! What a deal; I wish I had the time/money/spare room. I had a 64 Galaxie 4 dr I was building into a Mayberry patrol car several years ago and had to sell it when I moved. Always regretted not finishing that one. I had a 63 Falcon van, too. That one I drove for a long time before I sold it. always wanted the Econoline version.
Sounds like the most sensible old dude I've heard of in a while. He actually will sell stuff or give it to those who will enjoy it when he's gone.
