Having enjoyed the FAS for the past year or so, but not having any art skills kind of leaves one with a helpless feeling. Fortunately along comes a buddy who is graciously allowing me to post some of his art work. You can view some of his other art at www.myspace.com/dragdaddys . Thanks Ben for allowing me to use the MADD FABRICATOR as my avatar. I'll post a couple more next week.
    CHEERZZZ !!!!!

  5. I didn't know whether to post this in the Friday Art Show or in an Autorama thread but I thought those of you who could not make it to Detroit last weekend might enjoy seeing this inaugural event...Here's a few shots of the First Annual Detroit Autorama Artist's Alley.
A Big Thanks goes out to Josh, Todd, Chad, Ed, Max, Keith, TFee and their families & friends for being so pleasant to spend time with, so very helpful and for making the Detroit Artist's Alley so much fun. Another Big Thanks goes out to Larry Filipczak and Dennis Scott for making all of this happen for us and another Big Thanks to Megan and Denise for all of their kind words, encouragement and support! We can only hope that CASI decides to renew the event for next year. For your edification and enjoyment, here's a few pix...Sadly for unknown reasons, I stupidly missed shooting Josh and Ed's displays and for that I feel remiss....I'm hoping that they both can chime in here with their own shots!!

    Enjoy!-Mark

Overall Shot of the Artist's Alley:

The great Keith Weesner flew in to join us:

    Tom Metz's amazing photography:

Todd Jones drove in from Iowa to join us:

Probably a bit off topic - but my stuff is directly inspired by the hot rod art scene of the 50s/60s... the monster painters. Heres my latest.

Awesome show, sad that I am no longer in Michigan, the artist alley looked sweet!

Great shit this week. I am inspired. I need to make it out to Detroit next year.
Clysdale - I always dig your work!
Keven - the work you did for John on Vintage Torque is awesome. I was handing out those flyers at Motorama this past weekend.

Here is something different for me. Pen and ink on wood... Aspen I think.

WOW everybody 2 kool stuff... waaay to many kool things to list! I can't believe its MARCH already! i haven't had a lot of time to throw anything down to contribute but here's a lil something I did for a co-worker that's getting deployed in two weeks. I'm not an advocate of fenderless trucks post 34 but that's what he wants to do when he gets back soooo a lil inspiration to make it home!
