I tried to use Testors Model glue to get the skull to stay on,but it didn't work. So I went with plan B....JB! The skull is made of resin,I think.
bob, i used a countersink bit on the holes when i made one after i drilled the holes out it really makes a difference in the look. just an idea for ya
kewl man thats what its about "i made it myself". i built this one out of an old horse drawn plow handle. cut 2 pie cuts, and hacked off my Unishifter bunt it al back together ....not bad for an hour in the garage. now spent 2 years looking for another.....ran it in my 29 at the Shelton drags ,..worked awsome
It was harder than shit drilling without a drill press! I might take it out and finish it someday,lol...I have a counter sink, but it won't fit in my drill. Need a 1/2" chuck...
should probably start a thread on homade shifters. would be great to see what all people have used. i am constantly on the prowel.
I always wanted to find a big ass ratchet, like the big diesel mechanics use. Weld a big ass nut to the stub of the shifter, then use the ratchet as the handle......Ratchet shifter.
Obviously you haven't seen the baseball glove hands I have! My buddies at work call me "Bear Paws",hahaha! I wear a size 22 ring.
thats cool ..........i made mine out of 1/4 plate and 3/8 round bar and i made my shifter knob out of bondo
you could use a 1"drive breaker bar for a shifter. plunk a 3" socket onto it an fill the socket with jellybellies or boston baked beans on a trip
There was actually a 1" drive speed wrench, that I had my eyeballs on. But then I thought it might look cheesey!!!
Bob , If you want it longer , why not make an extension at the base so it is hidden by the boot and it will reveal the S more ? Nice work !
