this is a race car not a poser gasser so I know it is not period correcto. but will be a kool ride for me this summer none the less. 2x3 chassis with a straight axle, will radius the wheel wells full cage, glass doors, fenders and hood. 509 inch bbcenderle alky injection,, glide w/brake. 9 inch strange rear end with spool 35 spline axles and 4.11 gears. need to be ready to race on april 1st. here it is today valentines day. built this much cage this weekend.

  2. Wow! Serious effort there! Judging by the Z in the front frame, it's not going to be sky high? Injection on the BBC or carbs on the tunnel ram? Awesome build!

Nice "jump" on the project ..... what kind of number are you expecting with injected BBC?
How big a tire you running in the rear?

well we have a henry J racing with us with a 496 and glide and 4.11 gear and it runs 9.30s...I think big inches will make enough torque for it to get the job done

well i consider it a gasser but some guys think a purpose built car isnt really a gasser, i think if the shoe fits wear it, and im gonna wear it all summer. the csga run at thunder valley in noble okla every month in a nostalgia eleminator series and we travel and do gasser shows at several other tracks. mostly 1/8th mile which we like ... as long as its racing we dont care.beats the hell out of sittin and lookin at em and talkin bout how fast it prolly??? is haha..... thanks

Gasser or not, it's gonna be one fast J...I'm just glad I'm not in your class, otherwise I'd be getting whooped by that thing at every pass...looks like you're getting a lot done so far, keep it up...

  20. right on, a pair of monkies could play inside that cockpit all day long

I'll be looking forward to the progress on this one, that motor alone is enough to tip my keyboard from the back side.......sssshhhhaaaaaawwwiiinngg !

  22. Is the body now welded to the frame ?? Looks that way in the pics and just wanted to ask........& the cage looks very nice.

Oh......why did you Z the front rails if your doing a straight axle? Sleeper of sorts ??Carl Hagan

well it helps to set up steering under the race pan with a straight axle but not sit way up like a faux gasser. It should be a pretty fast car and is easier to manage when not quite so high in the air...but it is still a axle car gasser without a doubt.. thanks and yes i weld them to the frame, and do an all powder coated flat black aluminum interior and have glass doors and hood and fenders for it. will be a kandy color ...
