The Tornado is really a Harrell with a different name plate added.

It's a recent casting, same with the two carb Harrell.

TORNADO was first manufactured by Lee Chappel, the guy who is credited with having the first or one of the first speed shops.

and CRASHANDBURNS, yes I have seen a few BURNS intakes come up on ebay.

I have a few rare intakes I think some of the photos have found their way onto SCOTT MILLERS website. Don't think I have photos of them at the moment.

    found a couple of photos.

the one on the left is a 'lundberg and sons' the one at the top right is a BEP, the only one of its kind I have seen here, it is a common looking casting though the seems to have been used for a few different intakes that I have, however some minor changes between each one.

this one above I purchased a few years ago it is marked 'special' I have seen a pair of sandwich heads with 'special' on them too.

I have a couple more but not photos of them, their all Aussie ones that are 'rare' here, not saying their hens teeth, but you don't see them at every swap meet thats for sure.

I agree too, I have a Harrell and there is no way that a Tornado cover will sit on the side. I saw that Tornado and it is much shorter then the ever so high rise of the Harrell intake.

  23. Are they usually through the roof? 'Cause I'd very much like to have one. I've never been able to find one.

Harrell Racing Equipment "On the first several manifolds, Jim used the name TORNADO on the name plate, "Lee Chapel and his Tornado Engineering Co. had already thought of the name". Dick Pickerel brother did the preliminary machine work....
