Me Too. '37 finned heads have to be really hard to find.

Me too....when I had the itch to build a flathead, I had planned on a set of the "Denver" or Weiand "Cheater" heads, as they would just look bitchin' all polished up....no finned head looks better IMO. Unless ya count Neal's as finned....:D

Early Smith heads, they look great but didn't work very good.

I agree, Neal's motor is simply AMAZING. Simple and straightforward = Beauty.

I've seen pictures of those Kong Jackson twin plug heads before. THAT motor is an engineering marvel. There could be a thread just about that motor.

I'd like to see some examples of EVANS heads. Bill Neikamp used them on his original roadster. For those of us who dream of building a Neikamp clone, EVANS heads would be needed for the motor. Jake Jacobs ended up putting Edelbrock heads on the restored car, if I remember correctly.

By no means as rare as the rest here, but I've just picked up a pair of NOS Canadian 8BA heads (all casting flash still on them, happy?, you bet!)

Notice how the Lightening (by Wayne Boardman from LA), Thickstun (posted by Duster Swe) and the Tattersfield all share the same basic design with regards to the casting design around the lower studs. Thickstun did this to allow the use of the original studs. The Tattersfield head is just the later version of the earlier Thickstun. The Lightening head is either a copy, or from the same modified pattern. I have also seen in a catalog a head just like the Lightening, but with the cast name HOT ROD. Does anyone have a set?

Not a Ford and not a V8 but it is a flathead and it is extremely rare.

Here are some GRANCOR (Andy Granatelli) heads and intake on our 31. I have not seen another set in person. If I was home on the West Coast I'm sure I would have...

Man, could be. Those look real close. If you look at my photo, near the TATE in ALLSTATE, you can see what looks like it could be a die-line, where the ALLSTATE would have been inserted into the form.

    Cool.

    `great head` thread :)
I bought a nice set of the 8ba sharp heads back in 79 or 80?
at the rose bowl back when nobody wanted any of that flathead crap!
I miss those days still running them today and there still working great

Here is my contribution to this thread. These Evans heads are for a '37 21 stud flathead. I think quite rare.
