Randy Williams paid more for the scrap book that went with this swiss cheese car than most people paid for their muscle cars when new.

That's because, unlike the Union Park Tempest wagon, it's provenance could be proven.

FWIW I turned the Williams car down right before Randy bought it. Price was 5k car was in a pile. I KNEW the SC frame wouldn't take the abused I would give it racing and wasn't going to back half a true SC car. It's lived a LOT better life than it would've with me.

Scott has been busy getting a couple cars ready for Cobo Autorama this week-end.
Probably will be back on the Tempest soon.

No, on the original front clip.
No, on the original style trans axle.

This car was converted to a conventional drive train by the original owner and is being put back together that way.

John chose not to buy the original front end for the car,way too much money and wat too much work needed to use it.Randy Ferguson is fabing a new front end from scratch. He had a fender at Norwalk last aug.He has also purchaced a SD trans axle but at this time the car is being restored as raced.Tom

'George' Delorean??? Hmmm?? Didn't he also partner
with 'Foggy' Yunick and 'Igor' Arkus-Duntov to enter a
421 SD Tempest in the 'Indy 400' too???

There was no 'George' Delorean at Pontiac. The guy's
name was *John* Delorean and no 421 SD Tempests
were ever built to run at LeMans!. It was a drag-race
car only.and LeMans is a 24hr enfurance race run on a
    road-race course!

You, sir, need to be a bit more careful (or at least do some more "reading" before posting).

George Delorean was/is John's brother. As the owner of a local speed shop, Leader Automotive, he received many rare and interesting pieces as a result of his connections to Pontiac Motor Division...(The most notable was one of the six Super Duty LeMans coupes).

George is still living and active in the community here in my neck of the woods.

There also was a '63 Lemans built for Daytona; it finished several laps in front of the other contenders, including such notables as Ferrari and AJ Foyt.

    Thanks for that info, Keith,

  29. Love those 63s, Scott does fantastic work. Will the car be finished for POCI Nats or Norwalk this year? Wish I could be at the Mecum auction. Tom is the invite for a RA V drive still open. Will be in CA 5/4-11.
