Hot Rods One Bad-ass '56 Ford Gasser

I'm posting these pictures for 56 Gasser, who is a new HAMB member but definitely no new-comer to hot rods (just read his profile and you'll see what I mean).

He tells me he would really like to get kind of a Los Angeles-area Gasser Coalition going, and I said count me in! Great incentive to get my own dust-covered '56 Fairlane gasser project finished!

With any luck, he'll post the details for us all, but for now, but for now I can tell you that this thing will soon have eight fuel injection stacks sticking up through the hood , so you know this is car is pretty hard-core. So, in the meantime, enjoy! - Speed

I don't know many of the details, but this car had a history as a gasser before Steve (56 Gasser) got it and rebuilt it. I for one am really looking forward to seeing and hearing this thing rip! - Speed

That is a big reason why I posted these pictures and started building a '56 Fairlane myself, despite the fact I love 55-56 Chevy gassers.

I have a feeling we are going to start seeing more Ford gassers in the near future.

 

I'm hoping 56 Gasser will fill us in on the details on his build; I don't want to steal his show by giving the details on his cool ride - Speed

They almost look like the old swivel bucket seats without the swivels.

Great looking gasser. For too long this Ford body style has been neglected for drag racing. This is coming from a died in the wool Chevy man. I could never understand why Ford racers didn't use more '55-'56 bodies to build drag cars. Is there something inherently wrong with these that make racing one a PITA? And HELL YA for using an FE. How about a 390, top loader,9"
