Haven't done an update on this for ages, so here are a few pix of where it's up to. Some are phone, some are from a camera - should be obvious which are which! This is the nervous part of the build, trying to assemble and tighten things for the last time without scratches and chips. Bled the brakes and clutch this morning and all is well. It's a McLeod hydraulic throwout. Previous threads: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=350044&highlight=deuce+roadster Don't worry about the rocker covers, the real ones and a few other things will go on once it comes back from the trim shop.
That all looks very well thought out. I know 'well thought out' when I see it. I just can't do it. Too shiny for me. I'd be too scared of scratching it. Pete
Bloody hell, that's is clinical, so clean it's crazy. Great stuff. Have to say I'd be pooping myself for fear of marking any of that paint.
Marmalade copper Tony. It's in a Standox base/clear. Wheels are a creamy vanilla and the '40 Deluxe steering wheel is a tu-tone of both.
good to see mate, have been wondering what your up to with it of late, been to slack to fire an email off to ask.
Looks like it will be a beautiful car. Out of curiosity, what is the thought behind the parallel tubes on the center crossmember?
Good question and I think it was more a case of lack of thought. A company who shall remain nameless welded up the frame. They used a centre x-member kit + a P&J ladder bar cross member, rather than incorporate ladderbar mounts into the X-member. Not what I would have done, but that's how it showed up. Due to other complications with the frame and body, the centre of the front one was removed and I linked the two.
damn. I'll have to go with boris on this one - could well be the coolest car to ever come out of the sunshine state.
I hope you got a big box of add ons or they just might kick you out of the state!!!!! Looking real neat cant wait to see it finished.
Hahahaha... yep. Tony's got a big box of flaming eyeballs to go on it as soon as it's back from the trimmes.
Wow Tony, that'll get you kicked outta queensland for sure!!! Its really coming together well. I'd be scared to assemble it though, paint colour is great.
I love it Tony. Looks fantastic. Either your camera is messed up, or the pedals n' stuff are on the wrong side again.
