Anybody else think that it is an incredibly well built, UGLY truck?

yeah... it's like "the Emperors new clothes" around here sometimes. no one wants to be the first to say something looks bad.

    one more vote for ugly

No not really. I like it and no question it's over the top quality. The only critique I would give is the chrome on the rear seems a little heavy on the louvers and chains and rivets. But then the race cars from the era had alot of similar stuff. Either way I would be proud to cruise in it. Besides MR. Poteet is a class act and he loves anything with a motor on it.

My impression is that with that motor and grille it could make any car WOW! So, they had to gussie up the rest of the truck so people would ask why you would place such pieces on a standard truck.

It is beautiful work, but looks like it tries too hard with trinkety add-ons.

Throw a 29 roadster on that frame and I am sure there would be less questions about it.

Beautiful work and I respect the vision.

I heard from a few that the Donavan - Miller Indy motor was close to 75K

the theme seems way off, should have been a roadster. an indy race TRUCK

  19. The polished louvers are a bit over the top for me. It gets to be too blingy. That being said I like the rest and the craftmanship is incredible. Definitley check out the build pics on Troys web site it is, as per usual, incredible.

I'm in fear of getting my newbie ass thrown off of these boards, but I'd have to agree with you. The craftsmanship is incredible, but it's just too busy. On the bright side, he won't have to worry about his tailgate overheating:cool:

Poteets a class act, and the workmanship is impressive,
just not my cup of tea.
I like how he spreads the wealth around though.

    I agree 100%.

I think that if the louvers on the bed were painted instead of polished (as well as the stake pockets), the truck would have looked better.

Little off the mark for my tastes but it is an absolutely stunning truck in person and the workmanship both by the shop in Indy and Troys is outstanding. George always keeps things hopping in the hotrod world.

Too over done for me!! Nice Craftsmenship, but kinda Gaudy lookin'! I personally think this Grille is Hideous! But, that's just my 2 cents!

Nice truck I guess. But if I had the kind of money to build something like that, I think I would be trying to set trends, not following them.

I do like most of Poteets' stuff but the polish on this one is just a tad much. But still not bad.

I really like it, but think the Lilly has been "guilded" one too many times on this one, eh? Perhaps it isn't so far over the top in person? Gary

It's a whole lot better than SOME of the circus wagons I've seen posted on the HAMB.
