The Victorian Hot Rod Association held there annual Hot Rod show again at The Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne. Here are some of the more HAMB friendly cars that were there. I love this ute My closed cab door mounted on Waddingtons new Pickup cabs that will be available in the U.S.A. soon
nice pics, lots of diffrent stuff and only 1 rr. great display lifesize model box with the purple 36. very cool.
The R*tR*d had a display card saying that this is the style of car that was built back in the day when you couldn't afford a nice paint job........... Who new??????
Great pictures Binga, but where are the ones with your roadster pickup ? It would be the best one there.
Kelvin Waddington only borrowed my doors so that he could get some measurements to make his own. Cabs will be available in stock form and 6 inch extended versions. Mine is sitting in the shed gathering dust, too lazy to get it out and clean it and thanks for the compliment.
Excellent pics! I still can't stand it, that we got ripped off by not having utes made in the U.S. market.-MIKE
Wonderful group of Hot Rods, but what blew me away was the Royal Exibation Hall. What a classy venue to display classic Hot Rods and Customs.
Thanks for the pics Binga! I managed to drop by for a quick look but only had time for the outside with ABONED. Must go inside next year too! I.ll post my pics tomorow. HC.
1931 Model A Ford De Luxe pickup U.S. built.... One of the two Lew Bandt designed prototype 1933 Model 40 Ford closed cab Utes was shipped to Dearborn for consideration for US production - I believe that Henry declined and then 24 years later in 1957....
Binga, you made my early Sunday coffee cruz a blast. What a cool show, I am knocked out by the beautiful facility. The Bonneville Special is so smokin! I love the two bikes, spot on. Love the 57 Ranchero ad, nicely put text with it!! Thanx for taking us to this event, very generous with your time and energy. Smiling and sipping some java!! ~Sololobo~
Thank Binga, went there saturday arvo, saw Gerald, thought you might be in tow as well. catch you at ballarat.
Sorry I don't know who owns it, I didn't look at the show card as I was too busy looking at the car. I've got more pics but they are of the less than HAMB friendly cars I went late Saturday night with Dave. Sorry only pic I have.
You guys do great looking hot rods down there. 2nd to none I say! I never saw a modified '40 or '39 Ford cpe. that looked better than stock bodied ones but I gotta' say that the '39 Ford ute looks GREAT! is it a stock Aussie body style? Glad I didn't see any "junk rods" but I'm sure they were lurking around too.
Nice coverage Binga. Some of the other photos I've seen have been woeful. HeyyCharger - Don't be a tight-arse wog and pay your money and go inside.
What I want to know is how it got through customs..... bloody vermin. Went in on the Sunday so missed out on catching up with a few of you by the looks of it. Either way its a great venue for a show and it what was inside was well worth the trip in. Well all except one
