I posted this elsewhere as follows:



Jeem highlighted the subject of cool custom alternatives using traditional methods and materials to bring new life to an old Beetle. I've had some sketches in the hopper based on the subject, here's where I took them.

Remember those after market fiberglass hoods? My biggest problem with them was that they didn't go far enough and looked like what they were, tacked on
and cheesey. here's my take on the Carson top custom using a 50 something Hebmuller Cabriolet as the willing subject. (color version to follow soon)

Just between you and me - The 49 Ford had the horizontal bar grill - same as 48 and 50.

I voted for #18 as it's closest to what I want my 48 Panel to look like if it had the right grill and the colors I'm gonna use.

 

Well here's my contribution for this week. Posted these up at Motorburg yesterday for an early look. I know there are some vintage bike collectors on here and yes I know about the Jockey Journal. Still think that they are O.K. here. Hope ya like.

Jigger love where you went with this! after last week I was hoping you'd post your version! I didn't think anyone was still producing those glass front ends! way 2 cool. And a Oval back window!!! great idea, better flow, than the rectangle i was invisioning!

Yeah, I know, but this is what it had when they bought the truck. They're making a custom grille out of '52 parts.

 

Another great friday...mines not very original...or very good...but I love the little guy.

 

New carry knife. Shot it for myself.

 

Very cool knife. I'm usually not a fan of antler handles, but it blends well with the Damascus steel.

Does the tang go clear through the handle? Tapered?
