This may be my first time going. How does it compare to...say...the Big 3 Swap?

  4. I'm hoping to be there with the whole crew on Saturday!

here's a cut and paste from the website:

The Modesto Area A’s began the Swap Meet in 1965, located in the McHenry Shopping Center in Modesto. The event quickly outgrew the space available and in 1966 moved to the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in Turlock, and became known nationally as the TURLOCK SWAP MEET. It has become one of the premier events in the hobby of restoring and collecting antique and classic automobiles.

The TURLOCK SWAP MEET always takes place during the last full weekend in January. In 2010, the Swap Meet will take place January 30/31, 2010. The hours of operation are Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, 7 AM to 3 PM. Admission is $5.00 at the gate, children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.

the rule for Turlock is the more cold weather/rain gear you bring the warmer/dryer it will be.

I've been going for years, and the rain gear note is the truth. Bring boots, coffee, and a wagon for a fun filled day of scrounging. This year I'm bringing my 10yr old son for his second year, he's as excited about it as I am. There is hope for the future.

  20. I won't be able to make the Turlock swaps this year :( You guys gotta post your finds!

Then the wife will say,"Oh great! More junk!"- shake her head is disgust and wander off.
