Winter 2009/2010 Projects

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by travj31, Jan 14, 2010.

  1. I know everyone has their own build thread, but I thought it would be cool to have 1 thread that showed just one picture of where your car is right now... I'll start it off.

Here is my T-Bucket that started out as a cheaply/unsafe built street rod that I have torn completely apart and now putting it back together with some 60's style. I'm going for a "drag/altered" look for the street...

Love the short wheelbase of your car. What is the wheelbase? The wheelbase on my Fiat is 80".
Here is mine hoping to make more progress in the upcoming weeks.:)

  3. Project, what project??

Paint in Febuary. Then interior, reassembly, etc...
Spring is gonna get really short this year.
Trying to make Billetproof Michigan in May.

  4. to be honest, i'm not sure... when i got it, i hated how short it was and i was surely going to change it. however, while working on it, it has really grown on me and i think it gives/makes it a lil unique compared to the other t-buckets i see running around. when i get to the shop tonight, i'll be sure to measure it.

yours is lookin' good... will see time on both the track and street???

He is my '35. If I can get the spindles bushed and reamed I could get the front suspension back in it this weekend. Back should be done in a day or two also after I reverse the eye and gasket the axle as well as paint everything a nice shiny coat of black.

Sure am! I don't really plan on doing any body work with the exception of the firewall and getting it back to stock after some heater holes have been punch in with a pick axe hahaha!!! I am going to hand wax and buff it once it's running but that's about it. The interior will get a black pleats everywhere and steering column, shifter, and waterfall on dash will get some chrome. Pretty basic.

I aim to please fellas:D. I just can't wait to get the motor back and painted so that I can start getting that knocked off the list. I need to get a bunch of things rebuilt like water pumps and harmonic balancers as well as radiator, generator etc. Still have a ton of work ahead but I'm chipping away.

My 52 Styleline Deluxe the day I picked it up at the start of summer 09.

As soon as fall hit it was off to my friend Mario's house for drive train swap and lowering.

Now it's back at my house. Goes in for exhaust soon, then back to my house to be re-wired.

    1956 265 Chevy
-.125" bore to meet 283 ci
    -097 Duntov Cam
-'57 heads opened up a bit
-'59 Corvette Intake with WCFB carb matching bowl, choke etc.
    -'56 Corvette Valve covers
-Hurst engine cradle with proper SP-150 mount etc.
-Offy adapter hooked to a '39 ford tranny

Nothing crazy just a simple mid to late 50's Hot Rod motor. Eventually I would like to replace the corvette intake for a Weiand 4 x 2 with '94 on top.

  25. Measured the wheelbase last night and it's right at 85"... its not going to have a ton of power, but should be an entertaining ride to say the least...

Jeff, I don't know if I've said it before, but your 35 is awesome! I'm envious...:D Nice engine choice too, I don't care what anyone says.

Travj31, your T is really cool too, VERY unique look!

Here's mine... This first one is actually a pic from november so it's a lot further along now, but...

I was telling my brother thunderbirdesq that your roadster is going to be the raddest car in all the land and I hope I have the privilege one day of sitting in the passenger seat. I dream about your car and all the bitchen choice parts you have gathered for it.

As for my '35, thanks man. I hope I can do it some justice and it's comes out looking like what I have in my mind. Just looking at the tires sitting next to it gets me excited. Expect it at the Showdown and the Roundup hopefully.

  30. thanks man... when its done, i'll post some before and after shots. when i got it, it looked like an abortion gone wrong!

your roadster looks good...the flatty looks great too
