I found this in an old junkyard and couldn't find any markings on it other than the IHC on the steering wheel.

Fageol Superliner. They were used mostly as moving vans.

Love those things, tried to scope one out here a couple years ago, I could see it from the Interstate Hiway. When I finally got to the place, oops, the guy was a real jerk and let me know to never bother him again. Oh well. ya can't win em all. I was polite and just got the hell outta there, I still see it sittin and rottin away. It has cool little eyebrow visors over each front window, had a friend that wanted to make a mobile bbq with it. The over cab gave the movers more load capacity. I still think they are super cool! Thats my story and I am stickin to it! And thats a good lookin Merc, Tank. ~Sololobo~

Fageol was what I 1st thought, but didn't they use flat 6 cylinder air cooled motors, rear mounted???

yup moving van - i say buy it ,then get a piece of property park it ,paint it, move in ,then start building an addition on the side with the door ,while you live in the van ,finish addition ,move in there and move your workshop in the van --electricty ,running water and a toilet are opitional -!

Check to see if there's a body builder tag anywhere. The chassis front sheetmetal and incidentals may have been supplied by International and the rest of the truck designed and built by an outside vendor. By the way, that inline-6 engine still looks pretty clean and intact. Probably not in a moving van, but that might even be a 501 incher! The whole truck, if it's not totally rotten, could make a very cool 'art-deco' style motohome - and the engine, even if it's not a 501, might be worth something to someone building a rod.

P.S. - I just noticed the ignition coil on that engine. It's hard to tell for sure from the pic, but it looks like it might be one of those big finned Delco coils. If it is, I'd have grabbed that in hearbeat!

Probaby a moving van... many European race teams had transporters that looked like this back in the days, with ramps up the back. Fix it up and sell it to a Ferrari or Porsche collector! Gary

"THIS UNIT DOESN'T RUN WE DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT."

Might be that the carburetor is missing?

I bet that gets hot in the summer sitting right next to the engine like that (I assume it's missing a cover). I was going to guess a horse van but it looks like others nailed it.

    Cool find.

Looks like a lot of different versions of that van were around.

I like it. It would sure be cool to do something with it.

    Check this similar body out.
