I'm building a '32 Plymouth Model PB roadster with a 241 hemi, 4 Stromberg 97s on an Offenhauser intake. Keeping the solid front axle. Will be full fendered. Currently rebuilding all the wood in the body.

a 1953 ply. cranbrook gasser. I'm looking for 52 cranbrook or 53 dodge fenders. does anyone need any stock suspension parts. I'd rather give this stuff away here than sell it on ebay.

Building myself a 41 Plymouth(chopped) with a 392 hemi ,5 speed,9 inch on bags. Tearing it down right now, will start a build thread once the body has been sandblasted. Hope you'll enjoy. Great to see many old mopar builders out there! (yes the avatar is my car, before stripping it again)

The rear was a 48 plymouth and the front was a 52 plymouth. I found it on Craigslist a couple days before Xmas.

Why, does the front spring have a shackle on the drivers side but not on the passenger side?

I didn't do it, but have Nova front clip (disc brakes) on my 48 DeSoto, and a 392 Hemi. I am totally happy with the set up, and the car drives excellent.

The gizmo on the driver's side is a steering shock reducer, designed to lessen the feedback of steering shock to the driver.

    Dave,

I have a 48 Coupe that I have rebuilt the stock front end and use it as my daily driver around Dallas. Currently in the process of doing a disc set up using Olddaddys kit.

This is my second 48 coupe. The first was my daily driver as well. Had a local professional builder who was fairly accomplished talk me into doing a Nova subframe. Other than the upgrade to disc's I didn't really see much difference in the car after the swap. Wish I had kept the stock suspension and used the funds for other parts.

If you are concerned with the steering box location there are rack and pinion kits available at a reasonable cost that will give you more than enough room for a V8.

In my opinion, you would be farther ahead in time spent, work load and money to rebuild the stock front end, add discs and a rack than to do a subframe. Just my $0.02 worth.

  28. Thanks for that info!!!

I'm hopefully getting a 48 Desoto soon and I have been running all kind of scenarios through my head on what to do for the front end. So this info is very welcome.

Who has a rack and peanut set-up for these cars?
