I'm doing bodywork on my A ,The rear body lines around the trunk, really didn't exist and I have to make them .I built a cheasy guide ,But I figured a great way to guage them ,For you guys that have to work on body lines ,I took my sanding block and drywalled screwed a paint stick to the edge ,Simple and crude but it is working .Any how I was wondering how many of you guys are doing bodywork on your car. And also alot of tape.
I just got home from workin on Joe57's car, does that count? With thye amount of hours I have in it... I could probably own it, lol!
Redoing door panels in my kitchen... Too cold outside!! Gonna sand on the 34 ford tomorrow in the basement.
I am nean have been supposed to be. will tomorrow gotta start welding in the trim holes on the sides of the car
Fingers worn from sanding...then more blocking on my 56 courier. Struggling with the body lines that are from below the tail light to a fade near the doors. This cars been in the low desert since '62 so at least it's a relief from the rust repairs I'm used to on my Minnesota cars. So far it seems like the little dings are going to take forever. Add to the mix trying to used new and "improved" materials I've had problems with Dolphin materials not hardening...a mixture of 100% to 3-4% huh? No doubt it's probably my fault. Good luck
Didn't you just rub it into us in another post, how you were "sittin in the sun drinkin' iced tea"? And yes, I am doing body work, been doing body work, and will be doing body work for some time. I'm building a custom and that's the name of the game. When I'm done, I plan to rob a bank to pay for the car, by then I'll have no finger prints left.
just got done with body work on a chopper, painted it tonight. the bodywork part sucks ass, but after its sprayed theres nothing better than sitting back and taking a look at some paint.
Yep That's the best part ,Painting I totally agree . I m hoping to be there this summer. I built the car in primer .Mostly roughed in real well .Need some more pictures of projects ,In the bodywork stage ,I hope this gives some of us motivation ,The funniest part that so many guys are afraid of this step and Its so boring and easy .
yep, been working every night and still have a looooong ways to go finally got finished doing body work on my Caddy and got it painted..by the end of the winter I think I'll need a couple month break from body work
I just got my off-topic '73 Duster back from the soda blaster and parked back in the garage today. A bare metal body on a rotisserie is better than Viagra! It's pretty clean, but I'm going to be learning a bit about body work on a quarter panel, and pulling dents with a stud gun. -Brad
Me too. I have a lot that I should be doing but cold weather and have to be done around the house projects are getting in the way.
