I like that one. My daughter's Nash had something similar, I think. I'll check the shelf.

It is from a Chevy pickup. I have one in my 40 Chevy and it was used through 1948. I don't know what years they began using this style but I think it changed when they came out with the AD trucks 1948?

  6. I have one for sale that has a push-button on top and ratchet teeth at the lower end.

The big trucks used a similar brake through the AD series. I had one, I'd have to look. PM enjenjo, not much he doesn't have...I also know a guy on Stovebolt.com that is cutting up a big truck and he needs parts I have, I'll have him look at throwing that in on trade if its there ('49) and you can fetch it from my house.

I'll see Courtland at 6 tonight for dinner. I know we saved one that I was going to try to rig up onto the side of his NV3500 in his truck. I'm thinking of where it may be...I also PMed the Stovebolt guy, he's in GR area and MAY be out this weekend.

My 41 chevy truck has just like that. I used one like it to make a shifter for a buddy. The release handle has to be pulled to get reverse and park.

I prefer that style of lever too.Fitted to '28-'29 Model A from the factory.
Mine came from ,I think,a fork lift truck.

dam it seems these levers were used on many many things..
i recall seeing one on a dozer a few years back on a job site now that i think of it.
there must have been a manufacturer that was selling a boat load of these thru over 80 + years..watch it be a complete PITA for me to find one ..the one on flea bay went for 12 bucks..but i stand by my laurals..and will not pay to play there.

maybe im looking in the wrong places or calling it something different?

  19. Kinda hard to see here but this is a model 'a' left hand brake, early 28

I have that exact one, from the first post. Mine came from a '38 Chevy dump truck. I have seen them in most of the large trucks of that era, across all brands. Similar ones can be had from large trucks up into the '70s.

im not doing so well finding one..
granted , i just started today:p..but with as many vehicles or equipment that used to have these you would think finding one would be a snap.
saw one on flea bay..but i let it go because of my policies.

i have searched the 40's truck sites, and some 50's truck and parts sites. So far no joy..im not lookin for a repop..if there is even such a thing..
Or new for that matter..really would like to score an old used one that im sure some one on here has been kicking around for the past few years.

back to searching..thats half the fun, right?
