First thing I wanted to do was sand blast the cancer & rust off of it to see what I really have to work with. I also hit it with a coat of primer.

I decided to go with a custom chassis so, I bought some 2" x 4" .125 rectangular stock, 32 frame horns from Brookville Roadster and a cross member from JW Rod Garage.

The steel was laid out on the chassis table. Originally I was going to use a 2.73 gear from a Mustang but, I trashed that idea because it was to wide. now I will use a Ford 9" and the gear is still being determined. Also, I was going to run the spring under the cross member but changed my mind and now I will go with a suicide set up. I will probably cut the frame horns off.

Looks like it was a very nice cab to start with, much better than mine. I noticed your avitar (chopped and channeled), how tall are you?

The cab was next. It was taken apart and measured for the chop, channel & stretch. The sheet metal was folded over the chassis rails and more layout continued.

Now on to the engine. I'm thinking flathead so, I pickup a late model flathead (49-53) from a guy who said he pulled it from a truck which ran 8 months ago. I pulled the heads and checked and Oh No!

Just got my block back a couple of days ago from cleaning and machining. It needed to be boared 40 thousandths to clean up the boars but all in all, it's the nicest block I've seen in 10 years. As you can see the block is getting some smoothing before paint.

The cab is chopped 5 inches, I'm 5'11". I keep sitting in it to check and it's going to be fine.
