Okay guys, I'm curious to see how many of us "young guys" are out there. I'm 23 years old. I've always been into hot rods, work at a high profile rod and custom shop, have a degree in automotive high performance technology, and I have a 30 A coupe. At the shop I see that everyone that comes in to tour the shop and take a look around is over 50years old. I just wanted to do a little study to see what we have here. If theres enough of us maybe we can spread the word and get some more guys involved. Thanks guys!!!

I'm 30.....fuck you, thats still young!!! haha. I know bunch of dudes their mid twenties and early thirties that are all about this shit. Problem with most that I meet, a large precentage learned about old cars from the discovery channel rat rod training program. It's hard to flip them to true hot rods....sometimes I succeed....sometimes I fail, but I always try.

I'm 29. This is a pretty well rounded hobby as far as age is concerned.

First thing; get yourself at least a two-car garage to work in, your own place to work. (rent is money down the drain, BTW) get going on obtaining tools: purchasing at garage sales, swap meets, pawn shops, birthday-Xmas-grad gifts, etc.. learn all you can as quickly as you can from books, from us almost over-the-hill types who've bled the blood, from night school courses, from web-sites such as this one. you want your neighborhood on your side. Then, develop patience, endurance, and perseverance - you're going to need tons of this.
Good to see a new generation coming on board. It can be done!
