when im looking at mags or pis from the 50/60s i like to look at the tires people used to run... tread styles,, side walls,, whitewalls,, blackwalls,, doublewhites,, triplewhites.,,, checkerbords.... i wish we had that kind of variety today.....
so what tires need to be reproduced???? whats on your list???? add a pic if you can....

Someone NEEDS to redo the Firestone double diamond dirt track tires. The ones that coker does are too narrow for a lot of 60's builds.

I was given a set of those mounted on rims. No cracks, and good tread. A little bit stiff, but ill smoke em off.

I'm getting soft in my old age. I want some 16" radials that look just like Firestone bias plys, pie crust and all, and ones that'll balance with less than an ounce per corner.

I second the Inglewood Pos-A-Traction in an L-70 would be great.

    U.S. Royal Masters... Hands down.
I'm surprised that Coker still hasn't done these yet...

  24. US Royal Masters! with the radial ribbed side walls inside and outside of the white wall. These were THE tire for show car customs of the very late '50s and early '60s. They were the first "narrow" whitewalls appearing as OEM on the '57 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. US Royal had about six sizes of them that I know of. Many famous show cars had them and the restorations and clones of those cars don't look right without them. El Matador '40 Ford radical custom comes to mind.

    U S ROYAL MASTERS

The ribbed narrow white wall version like on most of the top end Customs around 1960±

Check pics of the Jade Idol or the Matador for them.

Only legal reason I can think of for not making them is that U S ROYAL was 'merged" with another company and is now UNIROYAL

Here in SoCal the Citadel along the 5 fwy was the old US Royal tire factory. I rememeber when they finally shut it down. It was the last factory making bias tires and when the demand ceased as radials became more popular they closed rather than retool.

If anyone cares the HON furniture factory in South Gate was the old Firestone tire plant. They used to blow the lunch whistle everyday at 12:00 and I could hear it at my house.

Pos-A-Traction was still in business the last time I went by. But I think all they do now is distribute imported cheap tires.

btw,,,, have i mentioned GOODYEAR DOUBLE EAGLE !!!:D

i wonder who owns the molds to some of these different tires....
like if goodyear still owns the molds for the "double egale" and if some one had a large chunk of cash,, if they would make a run of them...
