A friend needs some ideas on what the perfect 1932 Ford Roadster top should look like. Please post some photos. Merry Christmas!

Here is one we just completed using stock type irons and bows. Gates made the top for a 3 inch chop windshield. This is an early look for a top.

Did you all fab the frame up yourselves or is there a place to get a set of plans to make one from . I wanted to cut the top off my pick up , shorten the bed and make a top for those summer thunder storms that pop up from no where ! Any help would be very grateful !
If there is any place or a thread someplace , please let me know .

I wish you & your family a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS !

  9. I like Gary Lang's 32 Roadster top, and it folds up and stores in the trunk.

I like the way the angles were cut on the top of my old roadster.

It don't get no better than this.:) The curve at the rear of the side window is critical.

Eventually I'll be doing the same (making a top for my rpu), but I think this thread is for roadster cars. I did a search but came up with 11 pages of possible answers... I'll get back to you. (edit: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=350203&highlight=rpu+cloth+top )

I'm not fond of the roadster tops that are shorter in the back than the front in the side curtain area.

    Merry Christmas!

Obviously, it depends on the look your after, but for the traditional look it is hard (if not impossible) to beat the lines of a Houser designed Carson Top

I agree with tommy and a host of others, Karl Orr's is perfection and it's 70+ years old.
