Note to self: 33 gallon oil drums make for a quick lower fairing...

JimmyB. Was the twin belly tank car owned by Howard Johnson? Were there others who built those twin style? Thanks. Slim

MY GOD! What a thread! Real hot rods how they are meant to be, awesome!
Would love to know the story about the Ryan STM(?) on page one, other than a simple 'it crashed'!

I remember reading about this in one of Don Montgomery's books, ran a V16 Caddy!

I think I need some private time now. I just re-loaded my picture album that I lost on my computer. Thanks, Jimmy.

A few more. From AUTHENTIC HOT RODS, THE REAL “GOOD OLD DAYS” by Don Montgomery. The first image was from 1938! The last from 1937!!!!

  15. Of all the threads on the HAMB, I believe this one defines this place the most and the funniest part is that this thread only has 4 stars!

Only 15 people thought this thread was good enough to vote on and it's not even 5 stars. LOL!!!!!

What more are people looking for on a vintage rod site??!! I don't get it.

There are a lot of people on this site that don't give a shit about Tradition or Period Correct Hot Rods. I like to call them the "It's your car, build what you want guys" AKA, STREET RODDERS. I don't know what they are doing here.

This makes the star rating irrelevant...

...This IS one of the best threads though.

  19. HAHA it's at 5 stars now. I have never rated a thread. I look at the ones I like and move on or if a thread is incredibly interesting like this one I keep coming back. I can usually tell which threads are worth viewing by the number of people who have viewed and commented.

Thanks to evryone who contributed to this thread and keep it coming!!

You know, I don't think I have ever voted on a thread ever. I could care less if it's got 0 or 5 stars. If the subject material is engaging I will comment on it and keep up with it. The fact that there is so much submissions coming in as far as pics and content should be all the validation that any of us need.

I do love this thread for sure.

Fantastic thread... and 4 stars is retarded. It's getting another 5'r from me right now.

This is the epitome of HAMB.
