I think those Ardun head covers are being reproduced by a guy in Dayton, Ohio. Saw them at Hershey.

  9. Those Ardun covers look pretty crusty to be repops, but the real question is, where there heads under the covers? And were there prices on them?

I have a set of those long 427 manifolds, don't have anything to put them in or a reason to sell them.

  12. Those spark plug tubes are screwed in to something. ;) Take a peek through the open holes in the covers. There are heads under there.

I got the owner's number with the Ardun set-up if anyone wants it.... They "look" good at a glance and were still assembled. They also came with boxes full of Flatty parts and a U-Fab intake. The guys selling the stuff had no idea what it was or were playing a good game of dumb. I did not see or get a price but there is supposed to be a deposit on the lot for a $22,000 offer by the guy who called the owner before hand. He did say he would call any interested party back (no kidding) if it falls through.

I almost got the Weber 289 in trade for an injector I had. That guy couldn't make up his mind if had to have it or didn't want it at all. I ended up selling it out right to someone else. It was a good show, kind of light on the speed stuff compared to years past but worth a drive.

same thing here on the pair of Ardun heads...owner wasn't around, his buddy said he wasn't sure what they were for  & they priced them to a guy for $25,000...

I was there right at the opening and think the price may have went up because of guy's story to be honest. The owner who was not present might have known what he had but the two at the space didn't seem to have a clue at all. They said "all we know is it's cool" while throwing their arms up in the air saying to call the owner direct. There was a guy who walked up and tried to talk over me while I was getting the number from them. This little yuppie guy with a BIG mouth starts yapping a loose cliff notes version of the history of Arduns and a story about his daddy selling some of those before they were worth much and he heard "they" make new ones for big bucks etc. etc. As he was laying it down everyone around took interest... Who knows my buddy did not call until I got back and gave him the number but I think they would have been cheaper then $22,000-$25,000. There is nothing better than a pair of Chevy guys to buy Ford speed parts from....:D

    Tarlo,

He says he is including a set of reproduction covers with them. I'll pass it on. Thanks

I know guys that make sure they set up their engine bays with enough room for Ardun heads just in case they ever get a set. Myself, I would rather them cost more then see them on all the lame street rods they are on. It's red Camaro syndrome, everyone has one and everyone else wants one... A real shame for something so cool.

All the Ardon stuff was original. Had one complete set-up and just another set of heads. Got talking to the guy and he said they went to look at a 351 cleveland and the old man with the motor just had the stuff sitting on a shelf in his basement. He claimed they only gave the guy $500 for all of it. He also quoted me $25000.

O yeah and yes the prices were sky high, but I got away with a fresh 428 bottom end with forged pistons for the Fairlane for $1600.

It's scary how much the Sham-Wow guy and Beavis look alike.

I was at the spring swap at Columbus and the guy told me the same story about buying the Arduns from an old guy in Indianapolis, Didn't have them priced yet. Gave him my number, but he never called. Way out of my price range anyway. But he's had them for sale for a while now, that was in April.

That came out of the mouths of the two guy's selling it... Generally I have never known a person aware of what they had for sale say they did not have clue what it was. Making something sound better than it is or attaching a false history to help the sale is much more common. The actual owner who was not present was apparently aware of what he had for the money he got for them, more so if he was already asking $25,000 at an earlier meet as stated.

Regardless, I'm just hopeful they don't end up back on the shelf or on some hacked bare metal truck cab creation.
