Not much more done on my WIP...was slammed with actual cars to fix. But I squeezed in a little time to work on it. Let me know what you think! 001.jpg

I thought to myself that it would be fun to post some of my old 'hotrod'-stuff next to my more recent work. I still have lots...

    So here goes:

    The hotrod-steamroller... (pre 2000)
Once upon a time (10+ years ago) I played in a rockabillyband and did the hotrod inspired artwork for our demo. We called ourselves 'Two Lane Blacktop'. What's in a name huh? Now we were just a beginning mediocre band, but we did win the Hemsby talentcontest in England during the biggest rock'n'roll weekender in the world. (Bigger than Vegas back then...) These first two paintings are without digital lettering:

^ Two Lane Blacktop - cover

^ Two Lane Blacktop - back

    ^ Two Lane Blacktop - cd-package.

The inside is based upon small advertisements from 'the little books' with a humorous twist..

Below: This was the follow up single (also a demo)...

^ Two Lane Blacktop - single 'Don't Look Down' b/w 'Impressive Woman'

Hmm... Overhere in Holland it turned Saturday an hour ago and I really have got to get me some sleep. ...otherwise I'll be late for work... And it's gonna be a long day for me, coz I'm planning to attend Speedfest#4. A fantastic rock'n'roll festival with continuous music from 20(!) bands. But the best thing is the local Trashers CC will be organizing a mini traditional Hotrod show...

    Goodnight everybody. Happy posting!

Hey MrkCat37! are you planning to make some casts out of this original? Would be cool!

Yes Lemorris. Although I never heard them, I do have heard OF them. But I never had the chance to see them live. I know a few bandmembers personally. Pieter M. Dorrenboom is one of my favorite illustrators. I had several exhibitions with him. He did most of the albumcovers of Psychobillyband 'Batmobile'. Check them out...
    Oh, and thanks.
    Nightynight guys...

Thanks man! I was pretty happy with the end result:)

it is an ironhead sporty, I didn't model it after one year specifically when I made it. I usually list them in my Choppers for Charity section in my online store if they don't sell on ebay after a week, but I haven't gotten a chance to list that one yet. I'll hit you up with a pm.
