Well it's that time of year and It's time for a new build So I've got my self a dodge or so I'm told but the tag on the firewall says it's a Chrysler, So if anyone has a better Idea what it is let me know. As I got it home Mmmmmm wood rot So time to weld up the back doors and get the top ready to clip and so it begins and some more chopping Now for the slide Have to chop it down a bit to get the back lined up So off with the lid it goes Slowly she's loosing all her wood lol Little better lol Ok now I'm starting to get everything lined up Now getting ready for the actuall chop of the car
There a little better Last time on the original frame Did a mock up of her today to see how the suspension will go and room for the motor and what not looks pretty good I think lol
Your last batch of pics were really freaking small...that's a pretty badass idea to make a pickup from a 4 door, how are you going to finish the back of the cab inside the "bed"?...
Probably just roll some steel have to see how the frame all goes and then play it from there really thinking some type of tonneau cover in the end though.
Oh, and that looks really similar to my '31 Mopar 4 door (I call it a Plymouth)...does the beltline along the back under the window have a slight upward arch to it?...
Hell Todd, it's for sale...I'll give you a hell of a deal...it's just the body and dash though...it's still sitting in Winthrop...
you should have made a pickup cab out of it, then welded up a bed out of sheet metal.... or took a later model bed like a 48 and cut that up to make a bed. just a thought.
very nice, i bought one a couple years ago like this and put all the puzzle pices back together, cant wait to see what the final pics will look like
Cool, thinking about mine. I have a 31 Chrysler looks like the one you have? Been thinking options, I like what you've done so far
Looks great so far! I was looking at your Chev at the Garden City show in September. If I'd known you were a HAMBer I'd have introduced myself.
Nice job. While you are at it you could lengthen the front doors.I found the 4 doors are shorter than the 2 doors. It makes getting in and out a lot easier.I took a 32 Ford pickup, extended the cab 12 inches with a 10 inch side window, fabed a 29 model A sedan back half to it and finished off like a Ute .Had a ball with that one.I like what you are doing.
We love the more doors too! His wasn't in as good of shape as yours is though. Keep cranking on yours too I'm waiting to see an update soon!
If you put a seat back there it'd be a tub coupe. Freaky. You ought to consider finding a mopar coupe trunk section and making that thing an actual coupe. It's got great proportions. good luck!
So got a little done on the frame seems that as I built a new shop I have less time to work on my own stuff lately lol First I had to gut the floor out of the car. The start of the frame I originally had the rails strait but changed that as I wanted to channel the car and need to lower my seats in the frame rails if need be. Front frame rails
