Everything looks great...and I love the color. Is it a custom gold mix or is it a stock color of some kind. Also wondering what kind of paint was used on the engine..some kind of engine enamal or regular basecoat with some kind of clear....thanks and great job

It's a custom mix. We tried really hard to get it as close as posible to the original color. It was hard considering the truck had benn repainted. We were able too scrape enough paint back and match the color as close a humanly possible. (See the pic below) PPG was kind enough to help us with the color match. Or rep Shane was a huge help.

As for the engine paint. It is the same paint as everthing else. Base coat clear coat. We do all our engines that way. It is the only way to match the color exact.

This is one of the spots that we matched the color to.

I wish I had been able to make it. This is the first one I have ever missed. I heard it was a pretty good show.

2 updates in one week??? We are mad men trying to get this thing done by the Roadster Show.

Ok so after spending the better part of my day working. We got the cab ready for primer and shot. Let the block sanding begin!!!

The first shots are of just the primer and the last ones are with the guide coat applied.

What happened to the original dash? Did you guys change it out so you could keep the original one as it was painted and striped or strip the original and repaint it?

Unfortunately no. The original dash was not saved. There really was no proof on who striped it. Plus it was wlded in in a wy that would have destroyed it on the removal prosess. I did the best I could to document it though.
