I like the aircleaners you have. Those fiberglass scoops are for jet boats or funny looking dragsters. Edit - Great looking engine by the way. Have you put it on the dyno??
Ron Covell made and aluminum one in a step by step how too on one of the Saturday T.V. shows. Just don't remember which one. It was one nice piece when he was done with it. That man is talented!
I've always liked the shape of the early GBP dragster scoop. PIcture borrowed from Kent Fuller's site at: http://www.standard1320.com/Fuller/KentFuller.html
Yes, Rod 'n Race is still very much in business. The owner, Eric Young, has moved everything to a new shop, and may sometimes be away from the phone. For what it's worth, his wife died earlier this year, and he has 3 small kids to get off to school each morning and pick up in the afternoon, meaning the shop hours are now 9am to 3pm. Our Surfer scoops are the best value in the market. Classic design at a vrey affordable price.
[email protected] has Many Style Surfer Scoops....Single Carb and Dual Carb... flat bottom to cut your own too.
The Gentleman called me back from RodNRace last week.He seemed very helpful and friendly.I am taking the truck to a show in Cincinnati Jan 8th,so he is pushing it right out to me.I should have it Monday or Tuesday. If it looks half as good as the pics, I will be more than pleased for $75.00.
thanks, hard to believe that was 2 years ago when I painted it, http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=238949 at least now I know it'll go onto the 41 peaking out of the hood http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=434746
Send me the measurement or a pattern and I'll make you one in Aluminum. The Old Tinbasher [email protected]
This seller on eebay seems to sell a lot of surfer / vintage scoops. If you search for surfer scoops, his stuff comes up a lot. I suspect he makes them but I have no idea. "41willyscoupe" has a 100 percent rating... Gary
