  6. Beautiful Buick. One of my favorite 50's cars. Can't wait to see it when it's all done!

I guess its time for an update.

    Its finished!

haha, yeah right. Once again, life gets in the way and we haven't done much lately. Obviously we didn't make it to the round up. My dad has been working on the car ALOT lately.

We had a little change of plans though. Since cruisin season is basically here we decided to just rebuild the stock suspension and save the rivi sub-frame for this winter. We are still gonna use the 65 rivi rear end though.

My dad scrounged up new front suspension parts on the internets and took it all apart and painted everything. Its pretty much ready to go back together.

He also cleaned all of the grease and dirt out of the engine compartment. On top of all that he finished smoothing out the fenders and quarters. I think this car is gonna be pretty damn straight.

I got the engine all stripped down and cleaned up. Its almost ready to be painted. I guess we better figure out some colors to put on it. Any suggestions? We definately wanna do some combo of flake/lace/candy/panel paint on the roof.

My girlfriend also stripped for us. :D It was nice having her help.

Progress has been SUPER slow. I haven't worked on it in I dont know how long, my dad has worked on it quite a bit in the last week.

He got the trunk and the area around it all smoothed out and primed. We are gonna set it down and strip, smooth, and prime the roof and then start working on the chassis. We changed our minds again and now we are gonna go with the sub-frame and air ride.

Wow, I cant beleive its been so long since weve worked on it. My dad got the roof primed and ready for paint and the car is on the ground waiting for the sub frame. He also cut the rotten stuff out of the floor. Hopefully after we get our new garage door in and get the place straightened up a bit we will start workin on the Buick alot more.
