The spring isn't on the throttle shaft, it is situated on its' own boss and behind the link bar for the choke. The throttle shaft has no spring that i have seen. My pics aren't the best but i think you can see what is going on.

Thanks OJ great info, the springs im trying to install are called throttle base torsion return springs from Vintage Speed which didnt come on my carbs originally. These springs are to eliminate one large throttle return spring. thanks

I like the idea of those, especially on multi carb setups where sometimes it's hard to get one spring to get all the carbs closed that last 1% that gives you an idle..

Do they go on the throttle shaft? Problem with that is that the throttle shafts are soft brass so try to configure things so that they aren't under tension. The throttle arm (to the carb) is the safest place to have the spring so that the tension is on the pedal not the carb.

Me too Bear, not to mention it looks alot cleaner than a big spring, just cant seem to figure out where the spring mounts

Hi I just joined the group--Got a big load of 94s
    a few early ones
    a 92 and a 57
a bunch of 8ba's and unmarked same
    a couple 1 1/16 venturi
one holley with bigger throttle bores-marked holley not ford( its got load - matic dashpot.
    and four one barrels

heres the link for converting a load o matic to newer vaccum advance distributor port http://www.eatonbalancing.com/blog/...ey-94-two-barrel-for-late-model-distributors/

Question. Early ones only have the two air bleed holes in the top of base.
the load o matic got the extra hole on the base and the edges are camfered.

But some of mine that were not load o matic also got the third hole--WHY??

  21. Scooter , on your "build" discuss the drilled hole in the upper housing on some units and also discuss the proper way to color the Holley. Also discuss the "mystery" of using a new style power valve.

    thanks

working on my 15th one in two months, only 12 to go....

Here is a shot of the late PV vs a modified one. I ran into this problem myself.

I would like to Endorse dickster27 as my official 94 parts supplier. Also he can build full setups that look beautiful.
