Just seeing who makes a good flame thrower kit... Has anyone used the autoloc setup? Just trying to get advice on these cause I've never dealt with them before...

Don't use flame throwers. There dumb and will ruin you engine by flooding it with un-burnt fuel.
    Just my 2¢.

  7. You guys are Hard........man, flame throwers look very cool at night. I've never had a car with them & always thought they were stupid too,

But, at 2009 Greaserama.....it was just BadAss seeing them things light up the entire drive-in. "Time seemed to stand still when them guys to showing it off" Carl Hagan

I built my own, plugs in the headers ( lake style ) and a fuel line, yes a fuel line no flooding needed. The plug will light up the exhaust and I open the fuel solenoid and that gets the fire going. Or should I not use them because Michael Dorman said not to and they are dumb?

Advice is worth what it costs (in his case 2c). How did you get the fuel into the Lakes? injectors?

no I used 1/4 steel line and squeezed them down so they spray a flat pattern, I used a fuel solenoid from an old NOS system to control the flow. It works, it was free and it is scary...lit up the motel parking lot at Billetproof

  14. Flamethrowers are for getting attention when your car can't stand on its own merits.

I had them for years, (I used model T coils) before they became so popular, and yes, I ruined a good engine. But the main reason I suggest you not do it, is it only takes one mistake or one asshole for someone to get hurt, and if it happens these days, you'll lose everything you own to some fuckin TV lawyer.
Think how you'd feel if just as you lit em up, someones kid got loose and ran behind your car. Just my 2 cents

People either really love them or hate them as I am sure you have by now realized. I don't know much about the autoloc ones but if yiu decide that flamethrowers are for you go ahead and PM me for my phone number as I am the oldest dealer for the Superflame flamethrower kits from Coxter Electronics. But either way I am a fan of flamethrowers and I would love to talk to you about them good or bad.

    Thanks
    Big Rich

True...but the same can be said of over-the-top custom paint, airbags, wheels, big engines, hotrods/customs in general, etc, etc.......:p

    Otherwise we'd all like Kias....
Although I'm not a big fan of flamethrowers like I used to be....but on the "right" car...well...

Propane works nice and is safer/cheaper....

  22. I dig them. heres mine.

I don't think he is, and I believe he has at least one piece of proof.

But flamethrowers are more of a rat rod thing than a traditional thing. Yeah there were some back then, but not like now. It's a desperate plea for attention.
