I received my plates this afternoon, and started to get busy. DW was a great help with all my questions before I got them so i felt comfortable with this..

    plates arrived

marked according to my rails and the sheet

    cut out

    bent and tacked

if you follow the instructions he sends and measure ALOT, and transfer your measurements on the plates, it will fit like a glove... Kudos to a great product at a very reasonable price.
I will pull the crossmember and use my old works 220v welder and weld it all together and get ready for the top hats.. It took less then 2hrs from when i got the plates to when it was put under the car...

Thanx alot DW and welder series.

Looking good! Thanks for the pictures.

Regarding how narrow a frame you can install our crossmember on, with a standard kit you can get down to 26". If the rails are narrower than that, you could add to the outside of the rails at the crossmember/upper tower location. The inside of the upper tower pieces are 26" apart. We have had guys with really narrow frames actually take a section out of the middle of the crossmember, then modify the rack as well.

I've heard lots of good things about their products and tech help. May use them on a future project -- I think they're an Alliance vendor?

I wonder if you could "unweld" that and trace it out on some cardstock and send it to me?

Does it come with plates to box the remainder of the cross member or will you have to fab those yourself?

its 2 plates that have slits cut in the so it easy to bend and do a nice corner to corner weld. They also have little tabs on the to line them up..pretty slick actually....

Guys, for the small place Rick has to work out of and the project he has going... he's one wild and crazy guy!
I'm glad he finally got those parts.
    Now get to work buddy!

Hey Steve... I'll be cruizing by Rick's on the 14th if you wait until that weekend.
We could all grab shot of coffee at the market or something...

Looks great and in the first couple of photos you did a great job of answering my "how do you do that?" question on marking and cutting the notches to fit the frame.

Now, to work in a bit more overtime in the next month to pay for my crossmember kit and I'll be set to make some progress on the 48.

You would ask him to help you steal the product from a vendor that is on the same thread with tech advice?!

Paul offers great products at really low prices, he is an Alliance vendor and supports the HAMB. This was a stupid question on your part.
