I'd like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for the kind words about the car I'm building, and add that a lot of the credit for the body keeping a look of the 60's yet having a 6 pt. cage goes to Brian Fox. He built me a chassis that kept the driver low in the car and the cage low, letting me keep the headrest portion of the body low and looking more like the old cars.
I'll have it as a full bodied roller for HAMB drags 2010........thanks Randy

That is some amazing metal work, both the frame and the bodywork. As much as I would love to have a vintage style FED, I'd much rather have this kind of metal forming talent! Great work guys, I'm looking forward to seeing the end result!

Very good looking metal work done in the old school style. Will there be a push bar out the rear or just a blower start car??

That is true, it looks a little strange , with the mix of round and rectangular tubing . I guess baxk when it was built ,it was anything goes. All I know is that with the body on ,it looks great .

the transition from the cowl to the chute area is beautiful. that stuff looks so simple, but it's gotta be tough to get right. nice work, i can't wait to see it!

  23. I have one of the original articles on the Poison Ivy from the 60's. It was a little different with the panels off. I like this guys metal work. Looking forward to seeing the finished project.

I realize that a FED driver area changes to fit the driver, but as mentioned 'glass copies of that would be a real nice addition to the king chassis kits.
Maybe make it 4 sections; top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right so it could be trimmed to fit and 'glassed together.

  26. That thing captures the 60s fuelers look perfect! Great job on the chassis AND the tinwork. Paint by Monsterflake in the future? :D

Brian, any chance the Ghost and this car might be side-by-side at Bill's in December? ;)

Randy and King you both have great skills.I lOVE that body. That inspires me ,I am starting on a F.E.D. soon. My stepdaughter wants a junior dragster, She is getting a FED.We will start her off SLOW and when she is comfortable she can start racing. I live 10 minutes from Phenix Dragstrip. We can go there during the week and let her get used to it. Thanks Dan Parker Parkerchassis.com

Boy that would be nice. A glass version of that. To make it easy.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone, Randy is a true craftsman. As to side by side at Creative Customs Christman party. Probably not. Randy lives 5 hours away and the car isnt a roller. He is welcome to bring it if he wants to go thru the work of gettin here to St. Louis.

BUT look for side by side viewing of the two diggers at the HAMB Drags 2010.

And paint by Creative Customs is a maybe.

There will be something new next to Zorbas Ghost at Bills in December though.
