    Bought a polaroid photo album some weeks ago containing some rod and kustom photos taken in Iowa around 1956. Amongst these photos was this neat mid 50s roadster. Anyone here recognice it?

    wow..I've never seen wrought iron work in a nerf bar before, pretty radical car. You might try lookin' in the "Cool cars square roll bars" book. There are a lot of cars in there that share the same styling cues. John

    I have to say I even like the little chrome fenders. Way cool, never seen a pic of it before, but it's cool.

    Nice car, looks good enough to me to have magazine coverage, check out those green pages in old Hot Rod and Car Craft magazines.

    It actually looked like the exhaust exiting to me. Regardless, it's a cool little car.

    I zoomed the show card and it appears to say;
    O-J SPORTSTER by FRIES S_______ S______ (service shop?).

    Very tastefully done and a lot of nice chrome work to the engine, shell, fenders.

    Damn, that thing looks familiar...quite unique...one of those rods from the past that once you see it, when you see it again, it definitely "rings a bell". I just can't......quite............remember! Draaats! I'm almost positive it was famous. Somebody has to know.

    pretty slick.

  25. Not the same. That one at the LA Roadster's show is a Model T the other one a Model A. But both very cool nonetheless.

    County number 31 in Iowa is Dubuque. So you're looking for some old timers from Eastern Ia, Western Il, or SW Wisconsin that can ID the car.

    BTW, one of the stores behind the roadster is a Lillie May Candies store. I don't know if this was a chain, but there used to be one on Main Street in Marshalltown IA. So the show may have taken place there. My Mother-in-law was in that area back then. So I'm gonna forward the pics to her to see if she recognizes the buildings.

    Yeah I did the same, and it looks like it says O-J , C-J, or G-J...

    Thanks for all the input :)
