It's the "A" support (don't know the exact term) bracket at the bottom of the firewall, bolting to the frame. I didn't see any EMS replacements, so I was wondering if anyone else out there made them. I'm figuring not, but wanted to throw it out there anyway. If anyone else out there has dealt with this, I'd be really interested to see what types of patches you made and how you did it. THANKS!!!
anybody with the ability to properly weld in a replacement panel there should be able to fab one up that would work just as well. just get some steel and smack it with a hammer until it looks like the part you need.
so thaaats what its sposed to look like,....my 49 were gone. check with EMS and Chevs of the 40's. I dont remember seeing that part specifically but never really looked for it either.
Not being a talented metal-smith, depending on how yours turns out, you might have a business on your hands! What did you end up doing to remedy the problem? I looked at Chevs and EMS. EMScustomerservice told me to post a pic of it so they could see it. You'd think with all the folks that seem to have rotted ones, they have been all over it by now.
we would have but your the first to post a pic, now we know how they rust, this is one of the problems with the rust free cars get to copy from, we do not know about the model specific rust area's but the support is now on the list , thanks for the help fyi: the new 2009 ems body book catalog is now available, free to all hambers call kim 216-541-4585
