Folks Of Interest Brian Bass

I met Brian Bass at the Lone Star Roundup. He was covered up with people asking questions about the "Wade" chassis. So we didn't have a chance to make much conversation. But he did invite me to visit his shop "anytime."

This past Thursday I was in Dallas and came by late in the afternoon. He very graciously put down his tools and gave me the tour of his shop and the various projects in progress.

A lot of neat stuff and all of it distinctively "Bass built."

I wanted to see the Wade coupe body but was a day early.

We talked a while and the Brian went back to work chopping a Model A coupe. I hung around for a while, waiting for the rush hour traffic to ease off. It was a real pleasure watching someone so talented at work. Align, weld, hammer, align, weld, hammer, again and again. No wasted effort. Just perfect results.

When it was time for me to leave he again set his tools down and we walked outside. He invited me back whenever and waved as I drove away.

Neat guy. The real thing.

 

Its a pleasure I'm sure to watch somebody effortlessly do things that us mere mortals can only dream of doing!The skills some people naturally have is just so damn unfair for the rest of us!I'm envious of your trip to Brian's workshop, that surely was a damn GOOD way to spend the afternoon.

Brian is one of the most talented builders around hands down.

 

Skill and Creativity for miles. He has hands that will follow his eye's lead which always yield something remarkable. Viva La Bass!!!

Brian is a super nice guy, he had an open house awhile back and I had a hard time just trying to take it all in. He's got a great stash of some cool shit there. I enjoyed ever minute of it.

With out a doubt. I have had the pleasure of selling some parts to Bass that I could have gotten alot more for but why when someone like Bass deserve any breaks that he can get. Hopefully see you next year at round up and I still have your number and have not crank called you yet.

 

I heard he grew the beard because his cover was blown uin the Witness Protection Plan? Next step is to shave the 'stache and blend into an Amish community as a custom buggy builder.

That dude is without question one of the MOST talented guys doing this and I am NOT kidding.

 

I would love to visit with Brian and see his shop.....His talents are amazing.

 

I've talked to Brian once and he is a true hotrod building bad ass...

It is cool when a guy like has the talent - and is just a nice guy too.

 

I remember the first time I met Brian Bass.
It was at a swap meet in Texas, maybe Carls Corner.
He was driving a primer red 50 Ford that I thought would fit in well on the HAMB.
I asked if he had ever heard of the HAMB and he said no.
I suggested that he investigate and he joined soon after that.

 

I met Brian a few years back.I have great respect for him. Very talented young man.He's living his dream,building cars in the traditional way.It's a pleasure to say I know him.FALFA

I feel like I'm just getting started in my career, and I'm definitely still learning every day...but it's very nice to get some positive reinforcement that I'm doing the right things.

It definitely hasn't been an easy road so far...but I'm determined to get better at my craft with every project, and hopefully I can keep building for a long time.

I'm trying to grow out the beard so I can comb it over the top of my head! I think it might work if I cut out some eyeholes ala Cousin It.
