Did he use a Nomad tailgate? Roofline is clearly non-Nomad. Looks great, the thread title had me worried. :D

Looks real nice. I like the way he slanted the door post. What is the rear window from? Fantastic work, looks better than GM would`ve done. You never see anyone do 56 Elco`s, usually they all are 55`s.

I've known Ray since i was a kid and when i turned 16 my father almost bought me his old 58 del ray as my 1st car...The last time i seen him he was doing a truck and his newest 58 was being painted. He told me about this & I couldnt believe he cut that wagon cause it was a pretty solid car but that thing is turning out pretty kool...Ray is a very talented guy.

Did they even make a "concept" car like that in 56? I wouldnt do that myself, but I have to say it doesnt look bad.

I have to admit, I was worried when I read the title. It looks like he did a great job and it is going to confuse a lot of people at shows. Cool.

Ray is a good fabricator and an all around nice guy. I sold him one of my '37 Chevy pickups a few years ago and he made an extended cab out of it. Wasn't my style, but his workmanship is A-1. I haven't seen Ray in a while and didn't know about his latest build. Guess I'll have to get together with him and have a look-see at it.

we started that truck in my garage right before I moved out here to CA.
Ray did most of his work at my place and I stored my stuff at his place.
he now has a nice BARN work shop at a friend house.... Ron...

I believe the rear window is the back hatch door from the wagon, but I have an email into Ray to find out for sure. Ron...

Wow, he's done something really neat there. Looking forward to the finished product. Wheel choice will be important.

Damn, that looks cool. What kind of rims/tires and upholstery is he gonna put?

  22. looks great and we need more pic's. the back window could be the back hatch glass. after looking at pic's again it looks to wide because the hatch was same width as gate factory.

looks pretty darn good, like the color combo as well.

certainly nicer than a 2 door wagon in my book, keep it coming

wow im surprised it looks pretty good actually! i was a little worried that it was gunna be a hacked up nomad like i usually see. looks good i like the tail gate and how the rear pillars have that slant to them it doesnt look like they just hacked the roof behind the doors and sealed it up. also i like the ribbed panel behind the seat

  27. Not liking the model! I was thinking how bitchin it would be if it was made to look like it was stock. Wheels and interior, you know. I'm sure it will look great, but, just a thought...The metalwork is amazing!

    Outstanding execution....very nice.

  29. I must be at least the tenth one worried about the title, but pleasantly surprised.

    Nice concept, planning, and execution.

    Looks great!

  30. I liked the look in all the progress pics. All the colors looked great. I really like the back window idea.

There was a 58 Elcamino around here years ago. A guy said "I bet you've never seen one of these..." It was kinda neat...but nothing like this 56!
